Community Projects
Find out about what we do in the community
What is Social Value?
Social value is the positive impact businesses create for the economy, communities, and society. These can be social, economic, or environmental.
Social Value has become more prominent over the last few years with many of our clients now looking for providers who can deliver credible social value initiatives resulting in heathier and more sustainable communities.
To adhere with our social value obligation we hold open days and energy advice sessions for residents that are having works carried out under our contracts. We also support the community by assisting with local projects in the form of donations of time or supported funding.
News from Wealden District Council
Approval was granted for solar lighting to be installed in Moore Park following concerns raised by residents about safety at night. We consulted with individuals and at least 50% of residents were in favour of the installation of lighting. The project was funded by Osborne Energy as part of their Social Value Commitment to us.
This lighting will make a difference to the residents within the area, and help promote safety within the neighbourhood they live in.
If you have a project that would make a difference to the residents within the area you live in, please do get in touch and let us know tenant.participation@wealden.gov.uk.
We want to listen to your suggestions and consult with residents about ideas which have been put forward. It may not always be possible to grant permission, as this would be dependent on many factors including budget, as well as support from local residents who would be affected. Approval would also need to be sought by our independent grant panel members, if this was not funded by Social Value.
If a project is not able to go ahead for whatever reason, we will let you know and we will be transparent in our findings.
Maybe you could help make a difference to the neighbourhood you live in!

A little teamwork, a lot of growth – building planters for the residents of Maryan Court
As part of Osborne Energy’s Social Value commitments with Wealden District Council, we funded the construction of planters for the residents of Maryan Court in Hailsham.
We were all so impressed by your professionalism, friendliness and commitment to provide the highest standard of work. Myself and the residents of Maryan Court are delighted with the planters you have so kindly provided, the quality of the installation and planters. We are certain, the planters will provide many days and hours of enjoyment and social inclusion for our residents at Maryan Court. Residents have already completed planting to both planters. I am pleased to say your work and enthusiasm has also encouraged other residents to be involved in our communal gardens at Maryan Court.
